Interested in Circular Economy solutions with a special focus on the Blue Economy? The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is searching for a Project Coordinator with experience in working on technical cooperation projects in the blue economy field (seafood processing, aquaculture, maritime clusters, ports and marine transport, blue energy and desalination) or the textile sector. This position will work under the EU funded SwitchMed Programme to promote sustainable consumption and production (SCP) patterns in the Southern Mediterranean region (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia).
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will assist in appraising, adjusting and presenting project proposals, monitor programme implementation, identify problems and utilize information as an input to corrective actions to promote effective project management.
Advanced degree in natural sciences, environmental, chemical engineering or other engineering, specialization in environment or closely related field.
Fluency in written and spoken English and French is required.
Field of Expertise:
At least five years of professional experience in technical cooperation project management or portfolio project management including some exposure at the international level. Exposure to the needs, conditions and problems in developing countries. Ability to research and analyse information independently and recommend solutions. Ability to write in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural teams. Experience working on technical cooperation project in the blue economy sectors (seafood processing, aquaculture, maritime clusters, ports and marine transport, blue energy and desalination) or the textile sector is considered an asset.
